About Central Bank of Oman

The Central Bank of Oman posts indicative buying and selling rates each business morning for 48 currencies, plus gold, silver, platinum and the SDR. The rial has been pegged to the US dollar since 1986, so the interest of this table is its breadth: it quotes the taka, rupee, peso and other remittance-corridor currencies that Omani banks, importers and customs convert at, which few Gulf publishers cover.

One request for the pair you need — USD to OMR at the official Central Bank of Oman rate:

curl "https://allratestoday.com/api/v1/central-bank/cbo/latest?source=USD&target=OMR" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer art_live_your_key"

What comes back — a real response built from the table in force (2026-10-27):

Node.js / TypeScript client

A dedicated zero-dependency npm package wraps these endpoints — cbo-exchange-rate:

npm install cbo-exchange-rate
import { getRate } from 'cbo-exchange-rate';

const pair = await getRate('USD', 'OMR', { apiKey: 'art_live_...' });
console.log(pair.rate, pair.rate_date);

Zero dependencies, TypeScript types included, and it runs anywhere fetch exists — Node 18+, Bun, Deno, and edge runtimes.

Full reference — installation, all four functions, response shapes, error codes: cbo-exchange-rate documentation.

Why use the official Central Bank of Oman rate?

A market rate is a moving target; the rate Central Bank of Oman publishes is a fixed, citable figure that stays put once printed — which is why invoicing, customs, audit evidence, and statutory accounting in Oman lean on it rather than on a live feed. Every response from this API carries the bank's own rate_date, and on days with no publication you get the most recent published table — the one compliance rules tell you to apply.

Pairs the bank doesn't print directly are resolved from its table (inverse or cross via OMR) and explicitly flagged "derived": true — so what the bank printed and what was computed are never confused.

Endpoints

Full parameter reference in the API documentation. Every request counts toward your plan's monthly quota — rates change once per business day, so caching a published table locally makes a small quota go far.
